Tears

Today they buried a mother
No bands played,
No drummers drummed
No planes few over
No flags were folded
Yet the Tears still flowed

Today they buried a mother
No shots were fired
No cannons shot
No horse drawn carriages pulled
No one played taps
Yet the Tears still flowed

Today they buried a mother
Not one, not two but five little
children sat and watched as they buried
Mommy today. They did not need
to hear the drums, the band, the shots
The Tears still flowed

Today they buried their Mommy
They knew that mommy was gone
Their hearts were broken
Their souls were stirred
Their tears did flow
Today they buried their mother

Today the Sun Shined
The bands played
The drummers drummed
The planes few high
Souls were filled with joy

Today the Sun Shined
Shouts of joy could be heard
Canons fired in celebration
Fireworks were heard
Souls were filled with joy

Today the Sun Shined
Smiles were seen
Hearts were stirred
Souls were filled with Joy

Today the Sun Shined
Not on one, not two , but all five little
children felt the warmth
of the sun on their tiny faces today
Souls were filled with Joy

Today Mommy peaked through the clouds
and
Dried the tears away!!
